Review: Luke

Image
Luke by Barbara Freethy My rating: 4 of 5 stars I recieved this book as an eARC from the author and publisher when it first came out though I somehow forgot about reading and reviewing it. (I think I was sick or something at the time I got it.) I liked the romance and action in this book a lot. I also liked the characters. The end was my favorite part, especially when Lizzie and Katelyn were able to connect even though they were in danger. Luke also sounds hot! I don't think I'll read any of the other books in this series. I wanted to read this one because it was by Barara Freethy though and because I got the eARC a long time ago. This reminded me of her older writing's though, especially Just The Way You Are. View all my reviews

Review: Sweet Girl

Image
Sweet Girl by Cristin Harber My rating: 5 of 5 stars This book was a good book! It's a novella but it takes place in between books one and two. It took a bit to get into it but I think by almost 40 percent I was into it...and that ending was very good! I got this book for free on Amazon and was glad I took a chance on it even though it was a new adult book. I'm not going to get into detail about what it's about, but I think it's a book that's worth a try! Edit: Ok, I bumped it to a five star read because I can't stop thinking about Cash and Nicola so I actually bought book two already. View all my reviews

Review: Perilous Trust

Image
Perilous Trust by Barbara Freethy My rating: 3 of 5 stars I recieved this book as an eARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you publishers for giving me the chance to read it! Barbara Freethy is one of my favorite author's. I normally can't get enough of her books, especially her Bridesmaids and Callaway books. I even liked the Lightning series and have doubles of her books in ebooks and paperbacks. (I almost have a whole shelf full of her books in paperback!) This one was a bit harder for me to get into though. I actually liked the beginning part of the story. It was enough to hold my interest through about half the story and I liked the two characters Sophie and Damon by themselves. (I did actually really like Damon!) but for some reason their connection had me lost after about a halfway and I felt like their connection was missing in the romance part. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with this book, the connection just f...

Review: The One

Image
The One by Kiera Cass My rating: 5 of 5 stars I think this is my favorite out of all of the books because of all of the Maxon/America moments. They really are my OTP in this series. My favorite scenes would be the rain dance scene and the letters. And of course everything in between. View all my reviews

Review: Mockingjay

Image
Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins My rating: 4 of 5 stars This book would've been a five. But they know what they did. They killed off Finnick Odair. And I don't think I have to list the rest of the spoilers. View all my reviews

Review: Breakaway

Image
Breakaway by Sophia Henry My rating: 1 of 5 stars I recieved Breakaway by Sophia Henry from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I wanted to like Breakaway because I love hockey romances. I was intrigued by the maybe the first two chapters. I made it to about 33 percent (chapter seven) and knew I had to quit the story because already at this part of the story it had more sex than a plot to me. And I did keep trying to give it a chance. I put it down a few times then picked it up a few more times hoping that it'd be better for me, but it just wasn't my cup of tea after all. I'm not saying this is a bad story either, I'm just a bit picky on romance books. I like the plot to take over the book too. Maybe another time it might be a better read for me, but for now it will be on my did not finish shelf. Thank you publishers for giving me the chance to read it! View all my reviews

Review: The Perfectly Imperfect Match

Image
The Perfectly Imperfect Match by Kendra C. Highley My rating: 5 of 5 stars The Perfectly Imperfect Match by Kendra C. Highley was provided to me by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. First of all, I was very glad that the file was changed from a PDF book to a mobi file/epub file. I know this doesn't matter too much, but mobi and epub files are MUCH more reader friendly on e-readers. It made it more enjoyable for me to read on my Kindle. Thank you, publishers! I think this was one of my first baseball romance books. I'm trying to remember if there were any others that I have read, but I don't remember reading any of them. This was a great first one to read. I haven't read any of the other books in this series but I think they can be read as a standalone because I wasn't lost in it. It does mention another character's romance, so if you do want to read them in order to know what happens you COULD do that, but reading ou...

Review: Royally Romanov

Image
Royally Romanov by Teri Wilson My rating: 1 of 5 stars I recieved this eARC book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I was actually REALLY excited about this book. I even talked about how excited I was about it to two different people. It sounds like it has everything. It had a good cover, an excellent plot description, good reviews to get you intwrested. I don't think I saw one review below four stars. I thought I was going to like it as much. But I think I'm always going to be the opposite of what the rest of the audience is like. I didn't hate this book at all. I guess the excitement just kind of died down and it made me lose interest or something. I tried to finish this book because it was a review book. And I wanted to like it too. But maybe it just wasn't for me at this moment. I couldn't finish it at fifty percent, and it wasn't a lack of trying or strong hatred feelings against a book that do not finish bo...

Review: Kiss Me in New York

Image
Kiss Me in New York by Catherine Rider My rating: 5 of 5 stars I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. When I first picked this book up I was a little on the fence with it. It sounded like it was my type of book, but it seemed suspicious because the description was just too good to be that good. But I ended up really liking this book. Kiss me in New York was one of those books that have a 24 hour time line in it. A girl's boyfriend breaks up with her and she gets stranded in the New York airport on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. (I wasn't clear on that detail. She bumps into this guy and he buys her her book for her...and it was a breakup book. What happens in the rest of the book unfolds a cute story line. I pretty much read this book in one setting even though it was a PDF book. (I have a thing against PDF books. I just don't like the format.) But it's actually good when a book makes you forget what f...
