Review: Love Between Enemies

Image
Love Between Enemies by Molly E. Lee My rating: 3 of 5 stars I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I liked how Zoey and Gordon were lifelong rivalries, and Zoey really reminded me of Topanga Lawrence from Boy Meets World because they both loved getting the A's. I kept picturing her throughout the book and that made me smile. The plot was really cute too and it had a promise of a great story, but it ended up being ok to me. The characters felt like they were just there to me and I wanted to know more about them. The book was still a fast read though and it was kind of in a 24 hour type of book. I liked how they tried to fix things when they really messed up. This ended up being a three out of four stars though I will most likely check out the other books in this series still! Thank you publishers and Netgalley for giving me the chance to read this! View all my reviews

Review: Crazy Love

Image
Crazy Love by Kendra C. Highley My rating: 5 of 5 stars This was a very cute winter read. I really liked Luke and Charlotte together. I didn't read the first book Luke was in and I wasn't lost and I didn't have any real spoilers for the first book. The romance was very cute in a fluffy way and there were definitely some sparks and chemistry going on. This was definitely a new adult book, not a young adult but I think Ms. Kendra did a good job writing her first new adult book and I'd definietly recommend this one and look forward to reading more. It didn't take me long to read at all. This was definitely a five star read. I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. View all my reviews

Review: Can't Let Go

Image
Can't Let Go by Barbara Freethy My rating: 4 of 5 stars Can't Let Go by Barbara Freethy was about Annie Callaway and Griffin. I was actually really looking forward to this book, and it did not disappoint. It had everything a Barbara Freethy Callaway book normally has. There was mystery, romance, suspense. The action kept me wanting more. I would try to read at least three chapters at a time and that is hard for me to do these days, so it was nice to be reading something like that again. I wasn't really suspecting the ending, and the epilouge was sweet. It was nice seeing the other Callaways from the other books and it made me want to reread the other books again to refresh them. I also liked that this actually had Christmas in it, I was hoping that it would since it was being released around Christmas time. It was a definite four out of five star read. I received this book as an ARC. P.S. That cover is stunning! View all my ...

Review: How to Hang a Witch

Image
How to Hang a Witch by Adriana Mather My rating: 1 of 5 stars How to hang a Witch by Adriana Mather was a DNF at 26%. I was so excited about starting How to hang a Witch because I love reading about witchcraft stuff and the Salem Witch Trials and all that jazz. This seemed like it would be right up my alley. I got past the "Mean Girls" part of the blurb and actually got into the story. Until right around fifteen percent. And then everything just seemed to slow down and I just decided to put it down at 26%. It was fascinating until that point. And I loved Jaxson. He was my favorite character in the book. I don't know exactly where this book went wrong for me since it seemed like a match for me. Maybe I'll give it a try in the future again. It was a shame since I LOVE this type of stuff usually. Review: Just One of the Boys

Image
Just One of the Boys by Leah Rooper My rating: 5 of 5 stars I received Just One of the Boys by Leaving Rooper and the other author from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I've always been fascinated by ice skating or hockey stories. I don't know why, but whenever the two are in a story I am all for the story. Just One of the Boys was pretty much a perfect read for me. I tried to find at least one thing I did not like in the story, but I don't think there was one thing. Alice and her brother tried out for the Chicago Falcons, a junior league team. Alice made it at first, but then her coach realized she was a girl and made her brother be the one who had the spot instead. Something happened to her brother and she ended up pretending to be him so he would still have his spot on the the team when he got back. Alice actually was adorably convincing at playing her brother. I thought that part of the story was actually well written even ...

Review: Approximately Yours

Image
Approximately Yours by Julie Hammerle My rating: 3 of 5 stars I recieved Approximately Yours by Julie Hammerle from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I was attracted to Approximately Yours when I first saw the cover. Then I was a little bit intrigued by the plot about a girl texting a guy while hiding her true identity. And then I was even more sold on this book when I realized it was going to be a Christmas season book! I love Christmas season books. I sadly couldn't get into the fact that a guy just basically spent the whole book trying to be with somebody while really he wished he was with the other girl the whole time he was with the girl he was supposed to be with. I was glad when the girl called him out on that...not saying when or how, so that isn't really a spoiler. I did like the secondary characters and the whole Christmas plot though. Not everything about this book was bad, I just couldn't get into the romance drama...

Review: Wicked Beginnings

Image
Wicked Beginnings by L.A. Cotton My rating: 4 of 5 stars My Kindle died after I finished reading this because I had read the last half of it within a few hours one day. I wasn't sure what I was expecting from this book going into it, but it seemed like it was similar to L.A. Cotton's book series, Chastity Falls. (I'm sure I'm probably the only one that noticed, but there were only a few similar characteristics that I saw. I also LOVED that series after the first book.) I didn't get into the plot of this book until later on, though I had that same issue with the first book of Chastity Falls. I did like Lo and I'm interested in finding out more about Maverick in the next books that are coming out. Overall, there was drama, and romance of course. I do like L.A. Cotton's writing style and can't wait to see what book two will bring us to learn more about this new world. I recieved this ARC in exchange for an honest review. ...

Review: Coming Up for Air

Image
Coming Up for Air by Miranda Kenneally My rating: 4 of 5 stars Coming up for Air by Miranda Kenneally is the last book in the Hundred Oaks series. I have only read one other book in this series that was about soccer, so you don't need to read the other books in the series before reading this one, not even for the epilouge in the end. Coming up For Air was about Maggie and Levi. They were swimmers trying to compete for the Olympic trials. Maggie realized she didn't have much experience outside of swimming and she wanted to learn how to hook up. It ended up being a steamy best friends to lovers kind of read. I liked the aspect of this book. I've always been interested in sports romances for the last few years, and I'm even more of a sucker for best friends to lovers stories. It also helped that I was also still in the mood for young adult contemporary romance. Levi also became my book boyfriend in this book. I'm a sucker for guys th...

Review: Lucky in Love

Image
Lucky in Love by Kasie West My rating: 5 of 5 stars Have you ever read one specific book and just knew that something spectacular was going to happen in your life because of it? I knew when this book came out that it was going to be something else. I didn't know why I felt that way at the time, but I did and I kept holding off on buying it and reading it. Then I finally bought it and had the ebook checked out from the library too to have the best of both worlds. And then I opened the book to the dedication page and it just felt like the dedication alone spoke to me. The dedication was, "To all you readers who feel down on your luck. May your fortune soon change." I feel like Kasie West wrote that dedication specifically for me, because I had an awesome job opportunity that came up while reading this book. This may seem a bit silly, but I feel like I owe Kasie West a thank you for writing that dedication alone. That was just magical. I d...

Review: Words in Deep Blue

Image
Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley My rating: 4 of 5 stars Words in Deep Blue had a really good plotline...people wrote each other letters and stuck them into books around the bookstore in the letters library collection. I loved that idea a lot. There were lots of beautiful quotes about love, life, and books. It was hard to remember all of them. I liked this book and would recommend it to readers who like Sarah Dessen and other authors like her. It was a four star read for me. View all my reviews

Review: One of Us Is Lying

Image
One of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus My rating: 1 of 5 stars I really wanted to like One of Us is Lying because it sounded like it was similar to Pretty Little Liars... ( the earlier seasons back before we knew who the real A was.) There was four people in the group and somebody was supposedly the killer. It sounded like a mystery that was right up my alley, and it was a different type of YA book. It seemed too much like Pretty Little Liars to me though, and I'm sadly actually still a little mad about how that show ended... so my personal feelings towards that show probably got in the way of this book. I ended up going from chapter 6 to the last few chapters to find out who this person was supposed to be. I think I know who it was based off of those chapters, but I'm still not saying. It didn't surprise me who it was because it was one of the people who I thought it was. I guess all of the Pretty Little Liars episodes got me good at thi...

Review: To All the Boys I've Loved Before

Image
To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han My rating: 4 of 5 stars To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han is a young adult contemporary romance book. Lara Jean has written love letters to every guy she has loved in her past as a way to let them go. But then one day her letters get sent in the mail and every one of those guys gets their letters. All right, I have to admit I was a little skeptical about this book because of the reviews on here. I even was almost about to put this book down at around 43 percent, but the characters grew on me, especially Peter. And then there's this amaaaaazing Harry Potter reference scene that happens later on and that really grabbed me because I love Harry Potter and I thought that was so cute. (I'm not saying what it is because I don't want to ruin it for other people. But it's worth sticking it out if the book starts getting boring. This book is very high schooly like other reviews...

Review: The Ghost of You and Me

Image
The Ghost of You and Me by Kelly Oram My rating: 5 of 5 stars The Ghost of You and Me had so many feels. It was like an emotional rollercoaster. One minute you'd be happy because of something that was happening and then the next minute it would be intense. I liked how this story played out. Bailey's boyfriend, Spencer dies but he comes back as a ghost to try to help fix things that changed from the last year since he died. I liked Spencer a lot. It was obvious that he cared about Bailey. Wes grew on me in the end. I also liked Charlotte and Julia. The characters I didn't like were Bailey's old friends. They seemed very insensitive about her problems so it was nice to see Bailey make one true friend in the end. I really don't want to say too much about this book because I don't want to spoil it, but it is definitely an enjoyable read. It was a five star read. Kelly Oram is becoming one of my favorite authors. I finished this bo...

A non- book review related post

Hello everyone! I have changed up my blog a bit! Don't be surprised if you see some new changes the next time you visit it. One of the main changes is the layout and where you can follow me at. The following button is now in the top three lines on the left side. I just wanted to clear up any confusion here. It is also very easy to follow a blogspot blog too! My archive history is also in that top left box as well. Thanks for reading!

Finished Review: A Court of Mist and Fury

Image
A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas My rating: 4 of 5 stars Newer thoughts: All right, I finished this book after all. I don't know why I felt like I had to push through this one. It was a hard read for me. But Rhysand was one of the main reasons why I pushed through the book. I did really like his character a lot. He reminded me of another Finnick Odair and that might've been why I liked him. And last two parts of the book do get more interesting enough, even though it was harder to follow sometimes. I didn't have too much trouble with the last part of the book. I guess in the other parts it was "too fantasy" for me or something. But I hate Tamlin so much and the third book has me curious because of how they ended A Court of Mist and Fury. All right, this is rated a four now, but to me it is actually a 3.5 because it took four tries for me to finally finish the book. But I only finished it because I felt invested into Rhy...

Review: Tribulation and Truths

Image
Tribulation and Truths by L.A. Cotton My rating: 5 of 5 stars I think this book was the best in the series so far. It's addictive, and there's mystery and suspense. I started off not liking the first book but I'm glad I gave it a chance. One of my favorite parts in this book was when they were playing spin the bottle at the party and Nate's dare made me laugh out loud because of his poor friend's reaction. His friend asked for it though. I also liked seeing more of Dennis in this story and can't wait to read more about them. I think I'm starting to like the new adult genre better now. This book was really a 4.5 to me, but I went ahead and gave it a 5 star because it did wrap up Ana and Jackson's story mostly. View all my reviews

Review: The Traitor's Kiss

Image
The Traitor's Kiss by Erin Beaty My rating: 0 of 5 stars This book has an interesting plot at the beginning of the book. I liked the fact that there was a matchmaker and there were soldiers. But I lost interest in it for now and I'm trying not to make myself read books like that anymore. I might return to it sometime in the future though for now it will be on the DNF shelf. DNF @43 percent. View all my reviews

Review: Royal Crush

Image
Royal Crush by Meg Cabot My rating: 4 of 5 stars Ok, I know what you're thinking. You're probably thinking, why are you reading a book that's for middle schoolers? Because it's a continuation of The Princess Diaries! I started reading The Princess Diaries way back in fifth grade. This book series may not be targeted for my age, but I think it just targets people who just simply want to go back to the PD world. I actually like this series a lot. It's about Mia's sister and there's less drama in this series than there are in the high school books about Mia. It's refreshing in that aspect. And we get to meet Michael and Mia's babies! And Rocky is growing up in this book. I'm actually starting to prefer the books to the movies a little bit more. I thought this was a cute, easy read. I hope there's more books coming in this series with more info about the old characters too again. View all my revie...

Review: Salvation and Secrets

Image
Salvation and Secrets by L.A. Cotton My rating: 4 of 5 stars My first impression of this book series was that it was going to be like another Twilight series, minus the vampires. Jackson reminded me of Edward, and Ana kind of reminded me of Bella. (I only read the first book of Twilight by the way.) I almost wasn't going to read Salvation and Secrets, but I was glad I did. There's sooooo much more than that first impression the first book gives you. There's more plot and there's more intrigue and mystery (and romance if you're into all of those sex scenes... those aren't too bad to skim on by though!). Plus in this book we get Jackson's point of view! He became less like Edward Cullen from Twilight and that was when I gave him a chance. The reason why this was a four instead of a five is because....Ana did annoy me a couple of times in this book. For example, she went out alone by herself even though she specifically knew ...

Review: Garrison's Creed

Image
Garrison's Creed by Cristin Harber My rating: 3 of 5 stars This book was good until about halfway...then it dragged. I loved the prequel to this book more, but just wanted to find out what happened after that. After almost 70 percent I almost put the book down but then I decided to skip to the last chapter and the epilogue. I liked the epilogue a lot and was glad I read that at least. View all my reviews

Review: Luke

Image
Luke by Barbara Freethy My rating: 4 of 5 stars I recieved this book as an eARC from the author and publisher when it first came out though I somehow forgot about reading and reviewing it. (I think I was sick or something at the time I got it.) I liked the romance and action in this book a lot. I also liked the characters. The end was my favorite part, especially when Lizzie and Katelyn were able to connect even though they were in danger. Luke also sounds hot! I don't think I'll read any of the other books in this series. I wanted to read this one because it was by Barara Freethy though and because I got the eARC a long time ago. This reminded me of her older writing's though, especially Just The Way You Are. View all my reviews

Review: Sweet Girl

Image
Sweet Girl by Cristin Harber My rating: 5 of 5 stars This book was a good book! It's a novella but it takes place in between books one and two. It took a bit to get into it but I think by almost 40 percent I was into it...and that ending was very good! I got this book for free on Amazon and was glad I took a chance on it even though it was a new adult book. I'm not going to get into detail about what it's about, but I think it's a book that's worth a try! Edit: Ok, I bumped it to a five star read because I can't stop thinking about Cash and Nicola so I actually bought book two already. View all my reviews

Review: Perilous Trust

Image
Perilous Trust by Barbara Freethy My rating: 3 of 5 stars I recieved this book as an eARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you publishers for giving me the chance to read it! Barbara Freethy is one of my favorite author's. I normally can't get enough of her books, especially her Bridesmaids and Callaway books. I even liked the Lightning series and have doubles of her books in ebooks and paperbacks. (I almost have a whole shelf full of her books in paperback!) This one was a bit harder for me to get into though. I actually liked the beginning part of the story. It was enough to hold my interest through about half the story and I liked the two characters Sophie and Damon by themselves. (I did actually really like Damon!) but for some reason their connection had me lost after about a halfway and I felt like their connection was missing in the romance part. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with this book, the connection just f...

Review: The One

Image
The One by Kiera Cass My rating: 5 of 5 stars I think this is my favorite out of all of the books because of all of the Maxon/America moments. They really are my OTP in this series. My favorite scenes would be the rain dance scene and the letters. And of course everything in between. View all my reviews

Review: Mockingjay

Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins My rating: 4 of 5 stars This book would've been a five. But they know what they did. They killed off Finnick Odair. And I don't think I have to list the rest of the spoilers. View all my reviews

Review: Breakaway

Image
Breakaway by Sophia Henry My rating: 1 of 5 stars I recieved Breakaway by Sophia Henry from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I wanted to like Breakaway because I love hockey romances. I was intrigued by the maybe the first two chapters. I made it to about 33 percent (chapter seven) and knew I had to quit the story because already at this part of the story it had more sex than a plot to me. And I did keep trying to give it a chance. I put it down a few times then picked it up a few more times hoping that it'd be better for me, but it just wasn't my cup of tea after all. I'm not saying this is a bad story either, I'm just a bit picky on romance books. I like the plot to take over the book too. Maybe another time it might be a better read for me, but for now it will be on my did not finish shelf. Thank you publishers for giving me the chance to read it! View all my reviews

Review: The Perfectly Imperfect Match

Image
The Perfectly Imperfect Match by Kendra C. Highley My rating: 5 of 5 stars The Perfectly Imperfect Match by Kendra C. Highley was provided to me by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. First of all, I was very glad that the file was changed from a PDF book to a mobi file/epub file. I know this doesn't matter too much, but mobi and epub files are MUCH more reader friendly on e-readers. It made it more enjoyable for me to read on my Kindle. Thank you, publishers! I think this was one of my first baseball romance books. I'm trying to remember if there were any others that I have read, but I don't remember reading any of them. This was a great first one to read. I haven't read any of the other books in this series but I think they can be read as a standalone because I wasn't lost in it. It does mention another character's romance, so if you do want to read them in order to know what happens you COULD do that, but reading ou...

Review: Royally Romanov

Image
Royally Romanov by Teri Wilson My rating: 1 of 5 stars I recieved this eARC book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I was actually REALLY excited about this book. I even talked about how excited I was about it to two different people. It sounds like it has everything. It had a good cover, an excellent plot description, good reviews to get you intwrested. I don't think I saw one review below four stars. I thought I was going to like it as much. But I think I'm always going to be the opposite of what the rest of the audience is like. I didn't hate this book at all. I guess the excitement just kind of died down and it made me lose interest or something. I tried to finish this book because it was a review book. And I wanted to like it too. But maybe it just wasn't for me at this moment. I couldn't finish it at fifty percent, and it wasn't a lack of trying or strong hatred feelings against a book that do not finish bo...

Review: Kiss Me in New York

Image
Kiss Me in New York by Catherine Rider My rating: 5 of 5 stars I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. When I first picked this book up I was a little on the fence with it. It sounded like it was my type of book, but it seemed suspicious because the description was just too good to be that good. But I ended up really liking this book. Kiss me in New York was one of those books that have a 24 hour time line in it. A girl's boyfriend breaks up with her and she gets stranded in the New York airport on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. (I wasn't clear on that detail. She bumps into this guy and he buys her her book for her...and it was a breakup book. What happens in the rest of the book unfolds a cute story line. I pretty much read this book in one setting even though it was a PDF book. (I have a thing against PDF books. I just don't like the format.) But it's actually good when a book makes you forget what f...

Review: Tied Up In You

Image
Tied Up In You by Erin Fletcher My rating: 5 of 5 stars I recieved Tied Up In You as an eARC book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you! Tied up in You by Erin Fletcher is the second book in the All Laced Up series. It can be read as a standalone book though the characters in the first book do make appearances. The first book is worth going back to read first in order to read this one. Tied Up in You features Malina Hall and Luke Jackson. They have been best friends since forever. Malina is a science/space geek and Jackson is a hockey player. (He actually goes by Jackson in the book.)And their story unfolds into the cutest story ever. I honestly don't want to give away too much else because it's just so cute. I think readers should take the time to enjoy every single minute themselves without knowing too much of what'll happen. There is drama in this story because it is a high school story. But it's more realistic...

Lucky Charmed by Shayla Lovelace

Image
Lucky Charmed by Sharla Lovelace My rating: 3 of 5 stars This eARC was provided to me by Netgalley. I was so excited about the promises of this book because the reviews on Goodreads were so strong and that usually is a good sign for me. I also loved the plotline all the way through. But it sadly didn't have a strong impact on me like it did for the other reviewers. It was still a cute and good read, but it wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be. The ending almost made up for it though. There were a couple of slow scenes, though I did really like the part in the middle where Sully felt the need to come to the rescue for something that happened. (Not going to say here!) That was when it got a little bit better for me. It's still a good read if you want something that's a cute summer read. It's definitely a beach type of read. I also really like the cover! Holiday in the Hamptons by Sarah Morgan

Image
Holiday in the Hamptons by Sarah Morgan My rating: 4 of 5 stars Holiday in the Hamptons by Sarah Morgan was provided to me by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I have been on a Sarah Morgan binge reading spree since I first recieved New York, Actually from Netgalley. From there I have read Sleepless in Manhattan, Sunset in Central Park and then I read this book and Eva's story. (I'm still working on Eva's story.) There's something about these stories that suck me in. I just love the characters and how they all seem to fall in place with one another. You don't really have to know what happens before the first book you pick up. I started with book number four in this series! And they are just really good romantic reads. I really like Sarah Morgan's style and am glad I discovered her. It took me a little bit longer to read this book because I was reading the eARC on my NGP instead of a Kindle but I was finally able to finish it. Minor spoilers ahead......

New York, Actually by Sarah Morgan

Image
New York, Actually by Sarah Morgan My rating: 5 of 5 stars This eARC book was provided to my by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. When I first saw this book, the cover immediately grabbed me. Then the title, then the author, and then the description of the book. I had always wanted to try a book by Sarah Morgan, but just never got around to reading one. I was glad that New York, Actually was the first one I read by her. This book was part of the From Manhattan with Love series, but I don't think you have to read all of the other books in order to read this one because I didn't feel lost at all in it. I do want to go back to read all of the other ones at some point though. Sarah Morgan's writing style reminded me of Sophie Kinsella. The book was like a contemporary chick literature type of romance. It was definitely right up my alley. I read the whole thing in a day. I tried to read it in one sitting, but couldn't read it in one sitting. Did I mention that t...

Songs About a Girl by Chris Russell

Image
Songs About a Girl by Chris Russell My rating: 3 of 5 stars This book was provided to me by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I liked the plot of the book a lot... it wasn't quite a four star read for me because it was a little bit slow towards the middle, but it did pick up more around 70 percent. The book was like a contemporary girl joins band type of book, though she gets to take photos of them. I really liked the ending a lot, especially when she got recognized for her work even though she didn't think she good enough. I even kind of liked the part about Melissa's secret even though that caused the drama between them. The whole marshmellow best friend scene at the end was really cute. I'd recommend this book to anybody who liked to read about bands and stuff like that. View all my reviews

Gold Rush by Jennifer Comeaux

Image
Gold Rush by Jennifer Comeaux My rating: 5 of 5 stars This book was provided to me by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I knew I would love this book the moment I requested it on Netgalley. It had my type of cover, my type of plot... I love ice skating stories. And it turned out this book was pretty much what I wanted to expect out of it. I loved the whole friendship to romance part of the book. Sometimes the best romance is always the ones that start out as friends, and that quote was true for this book. This book also reminded me of The Ice Princess, even though the storylines are different. I still had the soundtrack of that movie playing in my head the whole time. The book does get intense with some drama, but I thought it was handled realistically. This was my first book I've read by this author, but I actually felt like I could relate to her characters well. I liked the fact that the girl character read YA, and she also had an e-reader... and I liked the fact tha...

The Selection by Kiera Cass

Image
The Selection was a quick reread for me... I have all of the same thoughts and feelings I had as when I first read it, though I raised the rating from four stars to five stars. (I was surprised I didn't already have it set at five stars since I know I loved it when I first read it.)This series is one of my popular yearly rereads. The Selection by Kiera Cass My rating: 5 of 5 stars I really liked this book. I was quite surprised after seeing all the low ratings on this site. I guess it was because all of the Hunger Games fans were expecting something else. Well, it was something else. This book did kind of follow The Hunger Games and the movie Ever After- the one with Drew Barrymore. I liked it a lot because it didn't have the violence to it. I started it yesterday and finished it today. I had two tests later this week that I needed to study for, but I couldn't stop reading this. I had to know what would happen. The only part I didn't like about the book was the clif...

The Book of Whispers by Kimberley Starr My rating: 2 of 5 stars I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review....I was originally interested in it because it took place in Tuscany, but it was a did not finish book for me because it wasn't my type of book after all. It'd be good for people that are interested in this time of thing. View all my reviews

Red Dusk Runaway by Ava Scott

Image
Red Dust Runaway by Eva Scott My rating: 3 of 5 stars I recieved this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I'd say Red Dust Runaway is probably a three and a half star for me. It started off a bit slow, and it was slow in some parts after that but I liked the fact that the girl did something she wanted to do for once in her life. I liked the fact that a rock star ran away with her as well. It reminded me of The Lizzie McGuire movie, especially towards the end where everything ended the way it did. The end part of the book was my favorite because that was when it picked up more. It'd be a good book to read during the summer. View all my reviews

Be True to Me by Adele Griffin

Image
Be True to Me by Adele Griffin My rating: 4 of 5 stars I received this book from Netgalley as a early advanced copy. This was a really cute beach type of read! I think was like Dirty Dancing, but it was on the beach instead of a resort. It still had the same feel because the two girl characters reminded me of the sisters in the movie. I really liked the plot, and the time setting it was in. It'll be a perfect book to read while on vacation this summer. I also really love the cover, it makes me happy! View all my reviews

All I Ask by Nicole McLaughlin

All I Ask sounded and looked like my type of romance book when I first read the summary and saw the beautiful cover. I even tried to get through more than 30% when I realized it wasn't my type of romance at all. It had a decent plot, though I laughed at the part when the main girl character was actually reading on her phone in a bar. That would be something that I might do. And she got caught by one of her friends. Then the rest of the storyline from there almost won me over, though I couldn't finish it. I might one day, but for now it was just an ok read to me, but it's more for people that like to read any type of romance.

Zenn Diagram by Wendy Bryant

I actually finished this book today. Zenn Diagram by Wendy Brant My rating: 4 of 5 stars I recieved this book from Netgalley to read for an honest review. This book was somewhere between a 4.5 through a 5 star for me. Maybe even a 4.8. I really liked the plot of the book. I'm not a math student by any means, but the plot was unique enough to immediately suck me in. A math nerd and an art student was a cute plotline! But wait, there's more. The math student can't touch people and she wants to find out why she has fractals or whatever they're called. I try to not give too much of the story line away, but the story line between these two characters made it a super cute read. It had me at the math jokes in the beginning of the book. The book also gets more intense later on, but again, I don't want to give away anything. I'd recommend this book to high schoolers and above, not to the middle schooler level. I also liked the other characters of the book as well. Th...

Forever Starts Tonight by Barbara Freethy

Image
Forever Starts Tonight by Barbara Freethy My rating: 5 of 5 stars I recieved this from the author/publishers in exchange for an honest review earlier this year. I feel like I have been waiting for this book for ages! I think at least a year or two. I love this series so much, and I loved this one. I received this as an ARC ebook and I loved every moment of this. The ending did have me a bit worried, but I don't want to say anything about it to spoil it for the rest of you. I loved the plot and the characters. Now I can't wait for the last book! Or should I say can I? I read this book in a day, thanks to having a day off right after getting the ARC. I normally don't read books that quickly, so that's another sign it was really good. View all my reviews

Long May She Reign by Rhiannon Thomas

Image
Long May She Reign by Rhiannon Thomas My rating: 4 of 5 stars I liked this book more than I thought I would... it seemed like it was a mixture of Beauty and the Beast and Sleeping Beauty. The Beauty and the Beast side showed out with the mad scientist part... Freya's love for science made me think of Belle's father. Then of course, the fact that so many people were poisioned automatically made me think of Sleeping Beauty because an entire town fell asleep there.... I liked Fitzroy. Freya and Fitzroy's friendship was cute, and I liked the fact that it was forbidden...and their romance seemed more believable than the romances in A Court of Thorns and Roses, The Red Queen, and The Valiant. It was refreshing to actually kind of see it, and they weren't automatically put together like in those books. They were a little bit more developed than those YA books. I do agree that it could've been a little more, but like I said it was still better than what I have seen in th...

Death of a Bachelorette by Laura Levine

Image
I recieved Death of a Bachelorette by Laura Levine through Netgalley and the publishers of the book in exchange for an honest review. This was the ebook edition of the book.   It has been awhile since I read the Jaine Austen books. I think the last one was book number nine or ten, but they are always cute reads, especially if you just want to dip a toe into the mystery genre but don't want anything quite dark yet.   In Death of a Bachelorette, Jaine Austen gets to go away to write dialogue for a tv show called Some Day my Prince Will Come. I liked the idea of the show a lot because it was about the prince choosing his bride, and I actually wished it was a real tv show because that is something that I would get into watching.   While Jaine is there though, there is two mysteries for her to solve really. One of them is a death that occurs...I don't want to spoil it by saying whose death it is. And the other one is how her cat, Prozac keeps esca...

Wintersong by S.Jae-Jones

Image
I just finished Wintersong, by S.Jae- Jones today. I needed a good young adult fantasy book after reading a steamy romance novel recently.   Wintersong is perfect for fans of Beauty and the Beast, the Tryll series by Amanda Hocking, A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas, The Selection by Kiera Cass, and the movie Frozen. It seemed to have similar elements to all of those.   Wintersong is an enchanting tale about goblins, but it is much more than that. Elisabeth was told to stay away from goblins her whole life, but when her sister gets taken away from them she has to go find her and Elisabeth sacrifies herself to take her sister's place in the Underground world. (I don't want to give much of the plot away!)   I really liked the writing style of the book. It was poetic, like an enchanted captivating dance. I had only meant to read the book for a few moments before returning it back to the library but it proved me wrong. The beautiful writing ...

Summer Rain by Barbara Freethy

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. I was happy that this was my first arc book! I love Barbara Freethy and how she takes even responds to her readers on Facebook. This book did seem to start of slow because the plot almost seem to be the same as the first two, but after the first two chapters I was hooked and wanted to go along for the ride to find out what happens next. Lovestruck by Lila Monroe

I actually finished reading Lovestruck yesterday and posted the review on Goodreads yesterday as well.   This book isn't usually my type of book, but it ended up being between a three and a half and four for me. I picked it up through Kindle Unlimited. It was cute, it has a hot guy in it and the connection between Ruby and Will was believable. I liked the fact that they knew each other from college...it had a cute plot. It was a little steamier than my usual reads. Not Fifty Shades of Grey (never finished that book!) But it was definitely steamy. I ended up just daring myself to finish it and I'm gl This book isn't usually my type of book, but it ended up being between a three and a half and four for me. This book was a library book, but now I might have to get it because it ended up being the perfect read for me. I was glad that I chose this book for my car trip ride home because I couldn't put it down. I finished it in a day! It's perfect for me because it started off back during the Salem Witch Trial era and I have always liked stories that takes place during those times. The Geek's Guide to Unrequited Love

Image
I think my rating is between two and two and a half. It was just okay to me. I tried reading this after a book that was just pure fluffy, and I just couldn't get into a book about geeks then. (I am a nerd just so you know.) Then I finally got into it after reading a YA fantasy book, but it just fell short to me after halfway through. There were a couple of sweet spots, but other than that if you aren't into the whole con part of the fandoms then you'll feel like you're just wandering around those hallways aimlessly pretending to care about all of the appropriate nerd references. I wanted to like this book since it was about fandoms, but I just don't think I was the right person to enjoy the concept more. But I tried it anyway.

Confessions of an Undercover Girlfriend

Image
I was a little worried about this book because it had mixed reviews and I wasn't sure if it would live up to the first book. But it surprised me by being even better than the first one. I loved it because I'm a sucker for secret relationships. If you like secret relationships you'll like this book. There are cute romance scenes and I liked it when Skylar liked who she was with someone. (Not saying who though it's obvious.) And that ending was just so cute! I read it almost in one setting. Confessions of a Virgin Sex Columnist

Image
I've gotten pretty behind on the whole book blog idea thing, so I'm going to slowly try catching up since I've actually been leaving reviews on Goodreads. One of my favorite books so far this year is Confessions of a Virgin Sex Columnist. This last month I've been reading books that have made me want to drop the microphone and just stop reading because no book can ever be that perfect again. I keep thinking, this is the world's most perfect book. No, this one is...this is the third one in a row that has made me think that. I'm almost afraid of never finding another book like it again. The first thing I want to say about this book is that it is no way similar to Fifty Shades of Grey. The title made me think that it was that type of book, and I thought, oh no. But I was relived that I got through 10 percent...and actually I got to fifty percent the first night even though I was tired from working. That was how much it captivated me. Skylar is a virgin sex ...
